Roy Luttrell, 83, Russell Co., KY (1938-2022)

Roy Luttrell passed from this life after an extended illness February 14, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was 83 years old.

The funeral service will be held at NoonET on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main St, Russell Springs, KY, with Calvin Kerr and Eric Bennett presiding. Interment will be at Wilkerson Cemetery, 6886 Ky 80 Russell Springs KY.

A service of remembrance and visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 6pmET to 9pmET at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main St, Russell Springs, KY.


He was born October 16, 1938, in Russell County, Ky., the son of Glen and Oda (Norfleet) Luttrell.

Roy graduated from Nancy High School in 1956. Following graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Darlene (Johnson) Luttrell, and they settled in the Windsor, KY community. They celebrated 64 years of marriage on August 17, 2021. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

He worked very hard in his life as a mechanical supervisor, farmer, and musician. He loved and was passionate about his family, music, sports, and fishing. He was always telling a story, a joke, or pulling a prank to make someone laugh. He was beloved by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving in addition to his wife, Darlene Luttrell, are his three daughters, Vicki Luttrell-Uppenkamp (Bob), Debbie Brown, and Sherri Stewart. Five Grandchildren, Kelly Farthing (Marion), Keith Brown (Kristie), Savannah Lawless (Michael), Victoria Wilson (Myles), and McKinley Stewart. Ten great-grandchildren: Hailey; Gaige; Brayden; Jordan; Emery; Tayte; Braxton; Carmen; Cloe; and Claire. Five Step great-grandchildren, Skylar; Hayden; Brysen; Kyra, and Uriah.

Pallbearers' will include: Keith Brown; Gaige Brown; McKinley Stewart; Myles Wilson; Michael Lawless; Marion Farthing.

Those who wish to remember Roy in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
