Roger Darrell Shields, 74, Burkesville, KY (1947-2022) Mr. Roger Darrell Shields of Burkesville passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky. He was 74 years old. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 4pmCT on Sunday, February 13, 2022, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main St, Burkesville, KY. The family will receive friends from 2pmCT on Sunday afternoon until the service hour. He was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on Thursday, August 21, 1947, the son of Martin Preston and Nelda Lee (Lindsey) Shields. He was of the Baptist faith, member of Judio Church of Christ, was a retired Master Sgt. With the United States Air Force, and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Rachel N. (Morales) Shields, whom he wed on Monday, July 26, 1999, of Burkesville, Kentucky, children, Vanessa (& Shannon) Compton of Glasgow, Kentucky, Loralee (& John Alex) Watson of Burkesville, Kentucky, Emily Shields (& Colby Huddleston) of Burkesville, Kentucky, Analea (& Garrit) Manthei of Anchorage, Alaska, Brian (& Cheyenne) Fauber of Burkesville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Dylan (& Christy) Compton, Alyssa Bull, Claire Bull, Mila Compton, John Marshall Watson, Jonah Maverick Watson, James Maddox Watson, great-grandchildren, Ivory Lee, John Houston Mayhew.
