ACSO: White truck located, driver fled on foot

By Sheriff Josh Brockman
Adair County Sheriff's Office

The Adair County Sheriff's office has located the white Chevrolet 2500 truck that was involved in a hit and run collision on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

Deputies observed the vehicle yesterday morning, February 2, 2022, operating on Russell Road around 9:30amCT, and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle accelerated away, leading the Sheriff's Deputies into a pursuit. The vehicle left the roadway near the Adair County line and struck an earthen embankment, where it became hung up.

The operator bailed out of the vehicle and headed into the woods. Multiple Deputies from Adair and Russell Counties, along with Kentucky State Police Troopers searched for driver but were unsuccessful.

The driver has been identified. He is not a resident of Adair County, and warrants of arrest will be obtained by Deputy Gary Roy for the collision the day prior and charges related to the pursuit.

We want to thank everyone for all the calls we got. Know that we investigated every lead that was called in. We will update again when we locate the driver.
