Ray Milby, 90, Greensburg, KY (1931-2022)

Ray Milby of Greensburg passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 90 years old.

The funeral services for Ray Milby will be conducted at 1pmCT on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Jonathan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Bennett Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 4:30pmCT until 8pmCT on Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and will continue after 7amCT on Sunday until time of the funeral service.


Ray Milby of Greensburg, Kentucky son of the late Guy Milby and Gertrude Noe Milby, was born on Thursday, March 26, 1931 in Jefferson County, Kentucky.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Separate Baptist Church. Mr. Milby was also a retired backhoe and heavy equipment operator.

Survived by his wife of 37 years, Ernestine Perkins Milby of Greensburg having united in marriage on May 12, 1984.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Lowell Alan and Miriam Milby of Illinois; a stepson: Keith Wayne Parson of Lexington; four grandchildren: Adam Milby of Bardstown, Shannon Kay Milby of Illinois, Amber Marie Milby of Illinois, and Jonathan Thomas Milby of Illinois; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother and a brother-in-law: Bro. Dan Perkins and James Blakeman both of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Milby was also preceded in death by two sons: Kevin Ray Milby, Brent Lee Milby; a sister and three half-brothers: Ora Jeffries, Edward Perkins, William Lewis Perkins, and John Arthur Perkins.
