Paulette Bray, 67, Columbia, KY native (1954-2022)

Paulette Bray of Russell Springs passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Russell County Hospital. She was 67 years old.

Funeral Services will be held at 10amCT on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Randy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Friday, January 21, 2022, and will continue on Saturday from 8amCT until time of services, at Bernard Funeral Home.


Born on February 19, 1954, in Columbia, she was daughter of the late Elza and O'Della Burton Johnson. Paulette was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Her family will always remember her as someone who just loved to have fun and enjoyed making people laugh.

Survivors include her beloved husband of fifty years, Evert "Junior" Bray, of Russell Springs, whom she wed on March 27, 1971; a son, Jerry Bray, of Somerset; two daughters, Debbie Bray (and James Scaggs), and Betty (and Allen) McQueary, both of Russell Springs; two brothers, Lee (and Hester) Johnson, and George (and Sheila) Johnson, both of Russell Springs; ten grandchildren, Cameron (and Skyler) Bray, Marcus Harrison, Bethany Harrison, Hunter McQueary, Austin McQueary, Trey Ashley, Justin Bray, Jared Bray, Jace Scaggs, and Braylee Scaggs; and one great-grandchild, Xavier Bray.

In addition to her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Sue Bray; two brothers, Tommy Johnson and Bobby Johnson; and three sisters, Ruby Pike, Sharon Johnson, and Priscilla Johnson.

Jerry Bray, Allen McQueary, Hunter McQueary, Austin McQueary, C.J. Bray, James Scaggs, and Jace Scaggs, will serve as Paulette's pallbearers.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
