Richard William Bryant, 88, Russell Springs, KY (1933-2022) Richard William Bryant of Russell Springs passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was 88 years old. Funeral services are scheduled for 1pmCT on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Brother Kenny Kimbler officiating. Burial will follow in Richards Cemetery, with military honors performed by the Russell County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 11amCT until time of services on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home. Born on December 23, 1933, in Russell County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Timothy Bryant and Eliza Grider Gasper. Richard was a retired construction worker and tobacco farmer. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Chris Bryant, and Nathan Bryant, both of Russell Springs; two daughters, Shanna Bryant of Columbia, and Rhonda (and Scott) Bryant-Marsh of Lexington; and one grandson, Elijah Bryant of Columbia. Richard is also survived by two step-brothers, Alex John (and Fonda) Gasper of Florida and Jimmy (and Susan) Gasper of Louisville; and one step-sister, Sandy (and Mike) Thrasher of Hartford, Connecticut. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald John Gasper; and one sister, Rozella Richards. The family of Mr. Bryant requests that everyone in attendance for the visitation and funeral service please wear masks/facial coverings.
