Lourene Martin Hurt, 90, Metcalfe County, KY native Lourene Martin Hurt, 90, formerly of Edmonton, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022. She was born in Metcalfe County July 11, 1931 to the late Virgil and Annie Pearl Estes Martin. She was a member of the Missionary Mound Baptist Church and will be remembered by many as clerk at Murrells Men's Wear in Edmonton for 32 years. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Donald Lindel Hurt. A son, Donald Richard Hurt. Four sisters and four brothers - Cromer Shive, Clara Shaw, Zelma Jackson, Gladys Spires, Orvil Martin, Russell Martin, Ray Martin and Radford Martin. She is survived by two children - Karen Matney Herrington (Kenny) of Glasgow; Alan Martin Hurt (Janie) of Bowling Green. Five grandchildren - Tony and Jason Hurt, Kelly Matney, Amanda and Courtlyn Hines. Nine great grandchildren - Carmeron, Dylan, Christian and Bailey Hurt. Jackson and Ryan King, Adam Matney, Harris and Madeline Hines. She is also survived by a daughter in law Cindy Hurt of Glasgow. Funeral Services for Lourene Hurt will be held 1pmCT, Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 Tuesday and after 9 Wednesday at the funeral home.
