Frank Paxton, 75, Korean War veteran, businessman, dies

Frank Woodson Paxton, 75, Columbia, KY, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2005, at 10:40 p.m., at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Lowe and Bro. Mark Shepherd officiating.


He was the son of the late Olie and Ruth Frances Shepherd Paxton.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Garrison Paxto, Columbia, KY, and the following
  • A sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Janice and George Bertram, Hodgenville, KY

  • A nephew: Bryan Bertram, Hodgenville, KY

  • And several other relatives and friends.
Mr. Paxton was a former owner, with his wife, of Adair Florist, a business they owned and operated for 34 years. He was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church, an avid fisherman, and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2005.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
