PROCLAMATION: Flags to be flown at half-mast in memorial to Earl Conover Mayor Bell Proclaims Week of June 18-24, 2005, a Period of Memorial to World War II hero Earl Conover PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Earl Conover, US Army, was a survivor of the infamous Bataan Death March in the Pacific Theater during World War II; and, WHEREAS, he was a Prisoner of War of the Japanese for the remainder of the duration of the war, and, WHEREAS, following a well-deserved hero's reception when he returned home to Columbia, Kentucky, he spent the rest of his life contributing to his Family, his State; and, THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED, THAT , I, Pat R. Bell, Mayor of the City of Columbia, Kentucky, issue and Executive Order, that all flags in this city be flown at Half-mast for the week of June 18-24 in Honor of, and Memorial to, Earl Conover, a great citizen of this City and State. s/PATRICK R.
