Chance for storms, heavy rainfall overnight Mike Keltner, Director of Adair County Emergency Management, sends word today that there is a chance of severe weather in the area tonight as a cold front approaches Kentucky. As of around 3pmCT on Friday, the National Weather Service in Louisville warned that evening and overnight storms could produce damaging winds and isolated tornadoes as a cold front approaches and moves through the region late tonight into early Saturday morning. The warning area included Adair and all surrounding counties. Intense rainfall rates may lead to localized flooding concerns. Mobile homes are particularly vulnerable to strong winds and even relatively weak tornadoes. Vulnerable populations should have ways to receive warnings that will wake them up out of a sound sleep may wish to consider finding sturdier shelter well before the storms hit, such as at a friend's or relative's, to stay at Friday.
