JOY Ministries launches largest Christmas campaign yet

You can donate today at Joy-ministries.org

By Hannah Peck

The J.O.Y Ministries Annual Christmas Campaign will be held throughout the month of December. This year's campaign goal is J.O.Y's largest to date, with hopes to raise $35,000!

J.O.Y. works diligently to serve those in the Columbia community who are impacted by poverty, single parenthood, homelessness and addiction. All monies raised during this campaign directly support this ministry!

J.O.Y has conducted their need-meeting ministry for over 10 years and each year, they have been able to extend their reach. J.O.Y continues the operation of the Crisis Resource Center which acts as an easily-accessible location for clothing and food provisions, utility/rent assistance, references to community resources and access to shelter for those in need.

Additionally, J.O.Y operates Cally's House, a single-family homeless shelter which was constructed in 2019. Since that time, Cally's house has rarely been empty. In 2022, J.O.Y. will open Ruth's Place Women's & Children's Shelter. This five-unit facility will serve as an emergency and transitional homeless shelter.

J.O.Y's ministry is only made possible through the generosity of this community. "We are believing that GREAT things will happen during this Christmas season," shares JOY Vice President, Hannah Peck. "Taking on a second multi-unit shelter is a big undertaking, but we trust and know that God will continue to provide for this ministry through the people of Columbia and we are just so grateful."
