LaBerta ''Bert'' Wood, 95

Funeral services will be held at Grissom Funeral Home on Thursday, June 2, 2005, at 2 p.m. for Bert Wood. She was a member of the Columbia Union Presbyterian Church who passed away at Summit Manor Nursing Home on May 30. Visitation begins after 4:30 p.m. tomorrow.
She was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Appleget Dey and the widow of Thomas Wood. She was retired from Mercer Paper Tube Company in Trenton, NJ.

Survivers include:
  • Her daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Jack Garrett of Columbia

  • Two grandsons: Brian Garrett, serving with the Army National Guard in Iraq, and his wife Rita of Glasgow; Mark Garrett and his wife Chasidy of Vine Grove, KY

  • Great-grandchildren: B. J. Garrett and Caitlyn Garrett of Glasgow, Caileen Garrett of Vine Grove; step-great-grandchildren Tasha Hadley and Colton Burton of Glasgow
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Albert, Harry and Marvin Dey.

Rev. Dwight Forderhase will officiate at the Thursday afternoon service with cremation to follow.

Memorials are suggested to either her church or to the Adair County High School Marching Band. These may be left at the funeral home.
