Sheila Ellen Carter, 61, Columbia, KY native (1960-2021) Sheila Ellen (Adamson) Carter of Burnside passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was 61 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Rob Kespelher and Bro. Robert Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Conover Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday after 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born on February 22, 1960 in Columbia, KY to the late Walter Beckham Adamson, Jr. and Eva Ellen Knight Adamson. She was also preceded in death by a brother Walter "Waldo" Adamson. Mrs. Carter was of the Christian faith and enjoyed crafting, cooking, sewing, painting and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 41 years Achilles "Bo" Carter of Burnside, KY; two children Amy Ellen Carter of Burnside, KY and Jeremy Rowe Carter (Kristen) of Harrodsburg, KY; three brothers Jerry Adamson (Denise), Kenneth Adamson and Ricky Adamson (Tammy) all of Columbia, KY; four sisters-in-law Jackie Adamson of Russell Springs, KY, Jo Schorman (David) of Russell Springs, KY, Jerrie Bunch (Randall) of Jamestown, KY and Judy Carter of Somerset, KY; a brother-in-law Ronnie Carter of Russell Springs and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Johnny Carter, Scotty Carter, Carter Hammond, Bradley Adamson, James Adamson and Lonnie DeVore. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
