Kenneth Grant, 79

The funeral service for Kenneth Grant, 79, 2565 Glens Fork Road, Glens Fork, KY, will be Thursday, May 26, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Bro. Hershey Giles, Bro. Matthew Cowan, and Bro. Stanley Watson the officiating clergy.

Mr. Grant passed away Monday, May 23, at 1:37 p.m., at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown after several weeks illness.


He was the son of th late ALbert and Sally Compton Grant of Adair County, KY.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Delpha Cape Grant, Glens Fork, KY, and by the following:
  • Two sons and one daughter-in-law: Dannie and Judy Grant, Somerset, KY; and Kenny Grant, Glens Fork, KY

  • Two daughers and two sons-in-law: Paul and Ronnie Bunch, Russell Springs, KY; and Tammy and Herman "Bug" Jones, Knifley, KY

  • One brother: Oscar Grant, Glens Fork, KY

  • Two sisters: Doris Baker, Fairplay, KY; and Claris Lewis, Chance, KY

  • And eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Lonnie Bunch; two brothers, Willis Grant and Robert Grant; and three sisters, Lizzie Holt, Lillie Grant, and infant Dorothy Grant.

Mr. Grant was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church, a retired farmer, and was employed by the Adair County Board of Education for 21 years.

Burial will be in Grant Cemetery at Glens Fork, KY.

The family requests visitation after 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
