Ruth Evelyn Stearns, 62, Columbia, KY (1959-2021)

Ruth Evelyn (Branham) Stearns of Columbia passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. She was 62 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10amCT on Tuesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.


She was born in Louisville, KY on April 3, 1959 to the late James Martin and Vernie Mae Bushong Branham.

Ms. Stearns was of the Christian faith and enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, listening to gospel music and flower gardening.

Survivors include three children James R. Branham, Kristy A. Tarter and Tommy J. Stearns all of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren Natalie Stearns, Nicholas Stearns, Alyssa Stearns and Damien Branham; three siblings Henry Branham (Ruth) of Indiana, Stanley Branham of Indiana and Linda Fay Duvall (Danny) of Edmonton, KY and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by ten siblings Roy, Damon, Marty, Jim, Shelton, Jerry Wayne, Glen and Dorothy Branham, Patsy Kitts and Pernie Holt.

The funeral service will be live-streamed on Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home Facebook page at 1:00pm Tuesday.
