Basketball: LWC Men open conference play against Bethel By Christopher Webster The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team will begin Mid-South Conference action against Bethel (TN) at 8pmCT tomorrow, Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Crisp Arena in McKenzie, TN. The Blue Raiders (5-1, 0-0 MSC) scored their season-high in their last outing, beating Simmons College of Kentucky 101-53 for their fifth consecutive win. Elijah Jordan scored 18 points while shooting six for 11 overall and five for six at the free-throw line. Jordan also added five assists and three rebounds. Mark Edmond recorded his first career double-double, finishing with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Lucas Ribeiro also had a great performance, recording a career-high 14 points and eight rebounds. Jordan leads Lindsey Wilson in scoring averaging 13.0 points per game through 6 games. Edmond has been a force on the glass, averaging a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game while Calvin Fugett averages 3.5 assists per game. As a team, the Blue Raiders are shooting an efficient 50.6 percent from the field and 41.0 percent from beyond the arc. The Wildcats (2-0, 0-0 MSC) come into the game after defeating Oakland City (Ind.) 78-62. Jon Brown led his team in scoring, recording 23 points while shooting nine for 15 from the field and five for seven from the free-throw line. Kamron Rose and Drew Thomas chipped in with the scoring load, finishing with 16 and 11 points, respectively. Brown leads Bethel in scoring with 19.5 points per game. Jamarius Mayberry shoulders the rebounding effort, averaging 11.5 rebounds per game. Jarred Walker leads the Wildcats in both assists and steals with 3.5 per game. The Wildcats average 81.5 points per game and 41.0 rebounds per game. This will be the 10th time these two programs have faced each other with Lindsey Wilson leading the all-time series 7-2. The Blue Raiders have won the last four meetings and are 4-0 on the road against the Wildcats. The last meeting resulted in an 80-77 win for Lindsey Wilson on Jan. 28, 2021.
