Goodbye, Bluegrass Cellular service

By Linda Waggener

We begin the week on the third day of what has been a tough weekend for former Bluegrass Cellular customers like me who received messages early Friday afternoon:
"Bluegrass Msg: Your account will migrate to Verizon today. To avoid service interruption, please restart your device repeatedly between 11/13/21 and 11/15/21."
Letting go it hard - it feels like rejection. And letting go of local service is really hard. Surprises are naturally happening as part of the transition.

One surprise for me was discovering that a good friend's number, where I've left messages for ages, gave me the strange response that this person's voicemail box had not been set up. Did we know we'd lose our old voicemail announcements?

It was a weekend of surprises like that, frustrating surprises, that just reaffirm loss of local and add to the discomfort that comes with change.

Here's the link you can copy and paste into your browser to Verizon's FAQ page to check out - after you restart your phone. Again.
