Volleyball: LWC faces Thomas More in MSC Semifinals By Kyle Jackson The No. 23-ranked and No. 2-seeded Lindsey Wilson volleyball team will face Thomas More (KY) in the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference tournament today. First serve is set for 8pmCT from Bowling Green High Arena in Bowling Green. The Blue Raiders (22-5, 13-3 MSC) enter the match after defeating No. 7-seed Tennessee Southern (25-14, 25-13, 18-25, 25-15) in four sets in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament. Johanna Alcantara led the way for the Blue Raiders in the match knocking down 19 kills while Radaisy Valdez had 11 in the game. Camryn Rich had 43 assists while Lauren Larzelere registered 22 digs in the contest as the defense held Pikeville to a .127 hitting percentage. This season, Lindsey Wilson is hitting .281 - the fifth-best mark in the NAIA - while Radaisy Valdez continues to lead the NAIA in hitting percentage at .466. No. 3-seed Thomas More (26-5, 13-3 MSC) enters the game after defeating No. 6-seed Cumberlands 3-0 in straight sets. Emily Mohs led the team in kills with 16 and digs with 14 in the match. The Saints are hitting .210 this season while averaging 12.67 kills per set. They're third in the nation in total solo blocks with 114 this season. Emily Mohs leads the side in kills per set averaging 4.89 while Lizzie Schoenfeld leads the team in assists per set with 5.16. Defensively, Asia Ferrando leads the team in digs per set with 5.05. This will be the 5th all-time meeting between these two programs with the Blue Raiders winning the only meeting between these two teams this season in a three-set sweep at Biggers Sports Center on September 8th.
