Fiscal Court holds first November 2021 meeting

From the office of Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan

Adair County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Tuesday night. We took up our regular agenda items and also had a few action items:

We had first reading of a wrecker policy. This was presented by the 911 center and reviewed by the county attorney prior to being presented for approval. Second and final approval will be done in December.

Judge Cowan presented a report from County Clerk Lisa Greer. Clerk Greer turned over the final payment of the 2020 Excess Fees in the amount of $116,885.58 making the total of the 2020 excess fees $366,885.58. "I want to thank Clerk Greer and her staff for all the hard work put in to serving our citizens and for being able to turn over the excess fees," Stated Cowan.

David Jones was re-appointed to another 4 year term on the Columbia/Adair County Utilities Board.

Beginning in January 2022, the Fiscal Court will have new meeting dates. Judge Cowan stated as County Judge, she is a voting member of the Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency Board. This board meets the same time as the Fiscal Court meets. I feel I need to be able to attend these meetings and since the Community Action serves 10 counties and has 10 counties represented on the board, it's easier to change the Fiscal Court meeting date. So, beginning in January, the Adair County Fiscal Court meetings will be held the 2nd MONDAY of each month at 6pmCT and the last MONDAY of each month at 4pm.

Household Hazardous Waste Event will be this Saturday, 8-12noonCT at the Adair Co. Road Department, 62 Service Road, Columbia.

Escrap Even will be next week, November 15-19, 2021 at the Recycling Center, 64 Service Road, Columbia.

Vendor Fair will be Saturday 10-3pmCT at the Jim Blair Recreation Center. SANTA will be there from 1-3pmCT for pictures (you take your own pictures.)
