Vote totals by precinct for Adair County Special Election

Voting ended at 6pmCT last night in the November 2021 Special Election to fill the seat for Kentucky State Representative for the 51st District, which was ordered by Governor Beshear after the passing of the late John (Bam) Carney (1969-2021), who had held the seat since 2009. The 51st district covers all of Adair and Taylor Counties.

There were several ways to vote in the November 2 special election, including mail-in absentee ballots, in-person absentee voting, and votes on Election Day. Overall, 2,026 votes were cast in Adair County, and a detailed breakdown of votes by precinct can be downloaded here:

Adair County Voting summary (Official):
  • Candidate: Total (Mail-In, Early, Election Day, Provisional)
  • Republican Michael "Sarge" Pollock: 1797 Votes (27, 406, 1364, 0)
  • Democrat Edwin "Eddie" Rogers: 379 Votes (15, 132, 232, 0)
  • Independent Timothy Gordon Shafer: 70 Votes (1, 22, 47, 0)
Republican candidate Michael "Sarge" Pollock carried Taylor County as well, and will be the next State Representative for Kentucky's 51st district.

Sarge Pollock new 51st District State Representative

Michael "Sarge" Pollock is the newly elected 51st District State Representative. He is well known in his home area, Taylor County, so Adair Countians can look forward to getting to know him and his family in the months ahead. His little fans pictured here are his grandchildren, EverLeigh and Fletcher Milby. It could have been their sincere campaign video, "vote for my Pop!", that put him over the top.
