Gary Wright, 61, Casey County, KY (1960-2021)

Gary Wright, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was 61.

Born on February 1, 1960, in Russell Springs, he was the son of Rosezella Luttrell Wright, of Russell Springs, and the late James Tracy Wright. Gary was formerly a laborer at Floyd Gate and Chieftain Steel. He was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. He loved being with his family and especially enjoyed attending family gatherings. He was an avid UK basketball fan.



In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Glenna Joyce Matherly Wright, of Liberty; a sister, Patricia (Jeff) Hancock of Russell Springs; two brothers, Roger Lewis (Connie) Wright of Liberty and William David Wright of Dunnville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ray Wright.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmET on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Russell County.

The family will receive friends from 11-2pmET on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Morgan, Shane Morgan, Adam Matherly, Whitney Denney, Jeff Hancock, Ashley Denney, and Mitchell Wright.
