More on Mrs. Edsel's (Edsall's) Edsell

I just saw the question re: Mrs. Edsel, appended by Shirley Jones to your Flowers/Roadmaster article:
"Does anybody remember a Mrs. Edsel who lived on Greensburg street ?( This was about 1958) She owned an Edsel car. I thought this was funny. Then they quit making Edsels. She rented out an upstairs aparment that I lived in while my husband was over seas while in the Airforce."

I wonder if perhaps this were Mrs. Verna Dohoney Edsall (or Edsell; I've found the name spelled both ways).

She was the daughter of Mrs. P.W. Dohoney & married Mr. William H. Edsall (his second marriage) in 1909. The Dohoney surname strongly suggests Mrs. Edsall was a native of Adair Co. or at least had family ties there.

Mr. Edsall's obituary (October, 1941) stated they had lived in Columbia for about a year. His remains were interred in the Columbia City Cemetery. Mrs. Edsall died in late December, 1971, age 89; her place of burial is unknown to me.

Your central Ohio bureau chief,

Cyrus
