Cross-Country: LWC Men take Third at Drakes Creek Scramble

Bowling Green, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's cross-country team placed third out of six competing Mid-South Conference schools to open the season.

The Blue Raiders finished the event with a score of 89, falling behind Freed-Hardeman (TN) who placed second with a score of 78. Campbellsville University placed first in the contest, finishing with 26 total points.


Mike Schonter was the first Blue Raider to cross the finish line, placing ninth. He finished with a time of twenty-eight minutes and twenty-six point four seconds. Levi Owens and Jim Headrick placed eighteenth and nineteenth with times of 29:14.5 and 29:20.6, respectively.

Other notable finishes for Lindsey Wilson include Jordan Tucker in 22nd (29:29.1), Nolan Foushee in 26th (29:42.7), Justin Steams in 31st (30:11.4), and Marcus Abel in 40th (34:46.3).

The Lindsey Wilson men's cross-country team returns to action on Oct. 2 to compete in the Greater Louisville Classic.
