Letter: Why the chart totals quarantine numbers with case numbers Matt Pendleton writes: At first glance a reader is lead to believe that there are 115 cases in our county school system. The actual current positive cases total 29, based on this chart. I believe one case of Covid 19 in our schools is too many, but 29 is much lower than 115 that is listed as a total. Accurate reporting and proper calculations should be provided by our health departments, and clear charting should be provided as well.Matt, thanks for writing. The schools provide these charts to give an idea of the impact on the school system. It's our understanding that positive or quarantined is effectively the same difference for the schools' attendance numbers--those students will have to be absent either way, and 115 are currently affected. --Pen Comments re: COVID-19 Information for Adair Co.
