Hospital Auxiliary News: March 21, 2005 meeting
Westlake Administrator Rusty Tungate informed the members of the Hospital Auxiliary that Westlake Regional Hospital is taking over the management of Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg. The news came at the Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary meeting, March 21, 2005, at the Hospital Cafe, with Auxiliary President Margaret Sparks presiding. In other news: The Auxiliary voted to purchase new recliners for patients' rooms in the hospital. This is an addition which is badly needed for each of the hospital rooms. It is another example of the Auxiliary being able to provide needed items for the hospital. A discussion was also held on making pillows for surgical patients. The Jewelry Fair will be held Friday, April 8, 2005, from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Beautiful jewelry and accessories will be available at discount prices with many items being priced at only $5.00. The jewelry fair will be a good place to update jewelry. The Yard and Bake Sale will be held Friday, April 22, beginning at 7:00 a.m. There will be lots of home baked food along with yard sale items. The Book Fair will be held Friday, May 20, from 7:30 a.m., to 4:00 p.m. The Book Fair and Jewelry Fair will be held in the lobby of Westlake Regional Hospital. The yard and bake sale will be held outside the hospital, if weather permits. Otherwise, it, too, will be in the lobby. These projects help the Auxiliary raise money for worthwhile improvements at the hospital which might not be possible withtout the Auxiliary's work. There are many selected items on sale at the Gift Shop with as much as 50% off, including all dolls. The next meeting will be held Monday, April 18, 2005, in the Hospital Cafe. Members and all interested persons are invited to attend. The welcome mat is always out to guests and new members. For additional information, contact President Sparks at 384-3139 or talk with any Auxiliary member. Minutes of the past meeting were read by Secretary Sharon Harris and the financial report was given by Treasurer Evelyn Phelps. The following members were present: Clara Bass, Louise Brock, Betty Dudgeon, Shirley Dudley, Betty Flaynik, Donna Gannon, Shirley Grider, Sharon Harris, Lila Loy, Charles Marshall, Evelyn Phelps, Rusty Tungate, Mary Evelyn Walker, and Edna Yarberry.
