Jerry Jones-Johnson, 91, Russell Springs, KY (1929-2021) Jerry Jones-Johnson of Russell Springs passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at her home. She was 91 years old. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pmCT on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY with Brother Carroll Egnew, Brother Mark Hale, and Brother Don Emerson officiating. Burial will follow in Phelps Cemetery. Visitation will be held from NoonCT until 2pmCT on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home. Born on October 10, 1929, in the Esto Community of Russell County, she was the daughter of the late Carl B. and Elizabeth Oakes Phelps. Known by many as "Miss Jerry," she was a retired teacher for the Russell County Board of Education with 33 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Russell Springs Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, Benge Johnson, of Russell Springs; one great-grandson, Andrew Jones; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Jones; her sister-in-law and soul mate, Judy Phelps; one nephew, Jacob Phelps; and one niece, Elizabeth Hopper. In addition to her parents, Miss Jerry was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Wallace Jones, who passed away on August 29, 1988; one son, Alan Phelps Jones; one grandson, Paul Alan Jones; one brother, John D. Phelps; and one nephew, John Carl Phelps. Miss Jerry's pallbearers will be Jacob Phelps, Mitchell Richards, Jansen Hopper, Andrew Jones, Mark Hale, and Mike Egnew. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Russell Springs Christian Church, P.O. Box 1207, Russell Springs, KY 42642; or Phelps Cemetery, c/o Judy Phelps, 2260 West Hwy 92, Jamestown, KY 42629. Bernard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
