V.V. Bennett, 81

V.V. Bennett, 81, formerly of Adair County, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at 8:10 a.m., at the Glasgow Health & Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral service will be Sunday, March 13, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral home, with Bro. Clifton Bennett the officiating clergy.


Mr. Bennett a member of the First Baptist Church, Bridgeview, IL and was retired from Campbell Soup Company in Chicago, IL.He was the son of the late Frank and Della Hibbons Bennett of Adair County, KY.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Vando Virgil Bennett, Jr, Benton Harbor, MI, and Carl Wesley Bennett, Summit, IL
  • One brother: Alfred Bennett, Fairplay, KY
  • Two sisters: Ruby Jones, Greensburg, KY; and Ruth Hayes, Gradyville, KY
  • And four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends
Interment will be in the McClister Cemetery at Fairplay, KY.

The family requests visitation after 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
