Carrie Lee Lindsey, 80, Columbia, KY native (1940-2021)

Carrie Lee Lindsey of Mt. Washington returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. She was 80 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmET on Saturday, June 26, 2021, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville, KY. Entombment will follow on Monday, June 28, 2021 in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, June 25, 2021, from 2pmET until 8pmET, and on Saturday from 10amET until the time of service at the funeral home.


Carrie was born in Columbia, Kentucky on July 26, 1940, to the late Charlie and Mattie Floyd. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Gene Lindsey and James Cooley ; her parents; brothers, James Floyd, Charles Floyd and Alvis Floyd; two sisters, Thelma Wells and Nellie Corbin; step son, Ernie Lindsey; grandchild, Candice Fickey.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lee Carol Fickey (Richard) and Carlton Lindsey; grandchild, Amber Horlander (Shaun); a daughter-in-law, Peggy Lindsey; three great grand children Rhys Horlander, Shaun Horlander Jr. and Haley Horlander; four step children, Mike Lindsey, Gary Lindsey, Debbie Roarx and Michelle Lindsey; several step grand children and step great grand children; and a host of nieces and nephews and a host of friends survive.

Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.subfuneralhome.com.
