Milerdine (Mammy) Paxton, 93, Green Co., KY (1928-2021)

Mrs. Milerdine "Mammy" Paxton passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Green Hill Manor Nursing and Rehab. She was 93 years old.

Funeral services for Mrs. Milerdine Paxton will be conducted at NoonCT on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Curtis Slinker and Bro. Caleb Shirley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4pmCT until 8pmCT on Sunday, April 18, 2021, and will continue after 7amCT on Monday at the funeral home.


Mrs. Paxton was born March 8, 1928 in Green County, Kentucky to the late Wesley Woodford Akin, Sr. and Grace Henderson Akin.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She worked at the Needle Craft and then later was a seamstress at the Fruit of the Loom and later retired from there. She was a talented quilter and seamstress. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: James "Heavy" Paxton, her son: J.D. Paxton, one daughter-in-law: Judy Paxton, 3 brothers: Robert Akin, Wesley Akin, Jr., Theodore Akin, and a set of deceased infant siblings: Lillie May Akin and Leonard T. Akin.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Karen Paxton of Greensburg; 2 grandchildren: Nick Paxton and his wife Diann and Anne Beard and her husband Jason; 3 great-grandchildren: Braeden Paxton, Jasey Beard, and Brylee Paxton; 3 step-great grandchildren: Kyle Wilson, Cody Wilson, Kane Wilson, and his wife Brittani; 3 great-great grandchildren: Hadley Wilson, August Wilson, and Arlo Wilson; A special friend: Emily Aaron House. Plus, a host of relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Nick Paxton, Braeden Paxton, Jason Beard, Anne Beard, Diann Paxton, Jasey Beard, Brylee Paxton and Emily Aaron House

Honorary Pallbearers: Green Hill Employees, Ronnie Moran, Brandon Smith, Shaun Murray, Jim Ferguson, John Aaron, Benny Aaron.

The family has requested that donations to be made to the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund or to the Green Hill Activity Fund.
