Bessie Ray Hughes, 92

The funeral service for Bessie Ray Hughes, 92, will be Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Henry Nelson officiating.

Mrs. Hughes died Thursday, January 27, 2005, at 10:45 p.m., at the Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia, KY.

She was the daughter of the late Clint and Maggie Hardin Curry, the widow of William Henry Hughes, and a member of First Baptist Church, Columbia, KY.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three sons: Charles Hughes, Dayton, OH; Glen "Dagwood" Hughes, and Kenny Hughes, both of Columbia, KY
  • Three daughters: Geraldine Miller, Joyce Bradshaw, and Ruth Ann Smith, all of Columbia, KY
  • And 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four children, James, Thomas Eugene (Dukie), Danny Ray, and Brenda Hughes.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Visititation will be after 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2005, at Grissom Funeral Home.

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
