Roy Jr. (Doc) Dickens, 69, Burkesville, KY (1952-2021)

Roy Jr. "Doc" Dickens of Burkesville passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his home in Bakerton.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Monday, March 22, 2021, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with burial to follow in Burkesville Cemetery.

The family requests visitation on Monday, March 22, 2021, from 11amCT until the service time at 1pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



He was born on February 9, 1952, in Cumberland County, KY to the late Bonnie Kearney Dickens and Roy H. Dickens, Sr. "Doc" loved the outdoors, woodworking, and motorcycles. He was a longtime member of the BMW Motorcycle Club and a ride leader in Burkesville's annual European Rider's Rally. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Brooks, niece Katy Brooks aunts, Josie Kearney and Sophia Radford and one uncle Bobby Radford.

Survivors Include:
  • Three Children- Chris Dickens of Burkesville, KY, Clif Dickens, and Jenni D. Page and husband Steven of Nashville, TN
  • One Sister- Alicia Unger and husband Denny of North Manchester, IN
  • Two Grandchildren- Lucy Dickens and Naomi Helen Page
  • Three Nephews-Jeff Smith of Bowling Green, KY, Dan Unger and wife Crystal of Wabash, IN and D.J. Unger and wife Ashley of LaFontaine, IN
  • Great Nieces and Nephews- Robert Smith, Mariah Smith, Adrienne Unger, Isabell Unger, Cole Unger, Haylee Unger, Adalyn Unger
  • Great Great Nephew- Landon Davis
  • His Uncle- Kenneth (Dewey) Dickens of California
  • A host of other relatives and many friends
