Paul D. Carter, 71, Green Co., KY native (1949-2021) Paul D. Carter of Bowling Green passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his home. He was 71 years old. The funeral services for Paul D. Carter will be conducted at 2pmCT on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Jerry Carter officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard. Visitation is requested after 11amCT on Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service. Due to State mandate and Covid-19, please continue to practice social distancing and wear facial coverings. Paul D. Carter, son of the late Cornish M. "Pete" Carter and Pauline Patterson Carter, was born on Wednesday, December 21, 1949 in Green County, Kentucky. He was a self-employed Insurance Sales Agent. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1970 and was a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Jennifer Carter of Columbia; a daughter and son-in-law: Olivia and Kevin Kirn of Bowling Green; four grandchildren: Skeet Carter, Casen Carter both of Columbia, Piper Kirn and Meadow Kirn both of Bowling Green; a brother: Jerry Carter of Owensboro; former wife and mother of his children: Patricia Carter of Columbia; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Carter was also preceded in death by two brothers: Lonnie Dale Carter, and Sammy Carter. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, or the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124, which can be made at the funeral home.
