Reeda Goodin, 84

Reeda Goodin, 84, 10233 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at 6:18 p.m., at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Friday, January 7, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at the Purdy Separate Baptist Church, with Rev. Clifton Cowan and Rev. Junior Holmes officiating.


She was the daughter of the late Sidney and Mary Lee Burton, Adair County, KY.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Rev. C.D. Goodin, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Danny Goodin, Columbia, KY, and Terry Goodin, Marshville, NC
  • Two daughters: Phyllis Paradise, Grant, AL, and Marilyn Radford, Columbia, KY
  • One brother: Elbert Burton, Columbia, KY
  • Two sisters: Thera Hardwick, Columbia, KY; and Sue Fisette, Edinburg, IN
  • Nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild
She was preceded in death by the following:
  • Three brothers: Nolen Burton, Carl Burton, and Waymon Burton.
  • And six sisters: Ollie Burton, Lillie McGaha, Rosie Burton, Ethel McQueary, Velma Pyles, and Mabel Wilson
Mrs. Goodin was a member of the Purdy Separate Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Interment will be in the Bearwallow Cemetery.

The family requests visitation after 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2005, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, and after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2005, at Purdy Separate Baptist Church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Bearwallow Cemetery Fund and may be left at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Mrs. Goodin's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
