Leon Underwood, 88, Green Co., KY (1932-2021) Leon Underwood of Green County passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his home. He was 88 years old. The funeral services for Mr. Leon Underwood will be conducted at 1pmCT on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Finis Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. A walk-through only visitation is requested after 11amCT on Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service. Due to State mandates and Covid-19, please continue to practice social distancing. Mr. Leon Underwood of Green County, Kentucky, son of the late Marshall Underwood and Jessie Milby Underwood, was born on Saturday, September 10, 1932 in Green County. He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a retired forklift operator for Brown-Williamson, and was a Korean War veteran having served in the United States Army. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia Ann Hammond Underwood of Green County having united in marriage on October 18, 1986. Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Jana Underwood of Louisville; a daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Don Elder of Louisville; three step-children: Lisa Britt, David Britt both of Louisville, Ronald Britt of Mt. Sherman; three grandchildren: Stephanie Owens, Kyle Underwood, Kelsey Brown all of Louisville; a great-grandchild: Brigid Underwood of Louisville; a step-grandchild: Andrew Britt of Louisville; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Underwood was also preceded in death by a daughter: Sandra Underwood; and two brothers: Tom Underwood and Eugene Underwood. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
