What are your sensory needs for happiness?

By Linda Waggener

Granddaughter Hailey called to interview me as part of her third grade science class work this morning. She had to interview three people with the question, "What are your sensory needs that help you focus?"

We talked about the five basic senses - smell, touch, taste, hearing, and sight.

Sight was my choice, thinking of how much sunshine helps me focus - I'm always amazed at how easy it is to remember gratitude when the sun is out vs. how my thoughts have to wander around a while before I remember to focus on gratitude on very gray days.

What are your sensory needs for better focus and joy?
