LWC Men's Basketball travels to Martin Methodist Thursday

By Kyrin Mayfield

Pulaski, TN - Currently in the heart of Mid-South Conference play, the Lindsey Wilson men basketball team heads south to play Martin Methodist (Tenn.) with tip-off slated for 5:30 p.m. CT.

Having lost four straight games, the Blue Raiders (3-6, 1-5 MSC) hope to get back into the win column against a tough Martin Methodist team.

Elijah Jordan is the top option on this Lindsey Wilson squad so far this season. The junior has scored in double figures in each of the previous eight games and averages 14.9 PPG. Payton Cundiff follows closely behind with 13 PPG and can be deadly when hot from behind the arc. The Blue Raiders average the second-fewest PPG in the conference at 70.6 and possess the lowest field goal percentage at 42 percent.

Colen Gaynor uses his length to cause problems in the paint on both ends of the court. The senior forward is shooting at a high clip of 50 percent on the floor while posting 8.2 RPG, the fourth highest in the conference.

For the No. 24 RedHawks (8-1, 4-1 MSC), Adarion Hudson is playing at an MVP level. Only in his second year with the program, Hudson leads the conference in steals per game (3.2), assists per game (6.7) and is one of just six players in the MSC to average over 20 PPG (20.6). His play helped Martin Methodist record two wins against ranked opponents and enter the rankings for the first time since 2017.

Darrin Jenkins and Teddy Fifer also contribute on offense. Jenkins shoots at a high rate of 56.3 percent, sixth in the conference, while Fifer poses a threat from 3-point range. The senior possesses the fifth-highest 3-point percentage in the MSC at 44.4 percent.

Live video and live stats will be available for the contest which starts at 5:30 p.m. CT. Please view the Martin Methodist Covid-19 Fan Attendance Policy.
