LWC Women set for conference road contest tonight By Brady Budke The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team is set to hit the road tonight to face off against Cumberland (TN) in a Mid-South Conference battle beginning at 5:30pmCT at the Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena. Cumberland (1-0, 1-0 MSC) took down Freed-Hardeman (TN) in its last game by a final of 68-61 on Nov. 21 to begin the season on a high note. Lindsey Wilson (6-1, 1-1 MSC) returns to action after an impressive 2-0 showing at the Julie Costello Memorial Classic, where the team grabbed wins over No. 3-ranked Marian (IN) and Saint Francis (IN). In the win over the Lady Lions, Lindsey Freeman led the Phoenix with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. Sydnie Ward also notched double-figures scoring with 12 points, while Britany Miller just missed a double-double at eight points and nine rebounds. CU was out-rebounded by 15 in the game, but forced 25 FHU turnovers to help secure the win. The Blue Raiders are led in scoring by Reagan Turner, who is averaging 21.5 points per game. Turner is approaching the 2,000 career point mark, as she currently sits at 1,969 entering tonight. Sydnie Hall and Maleigha Oldham each average 10 PPG apiece, while Bree Glover leads the team on the glass at 8.4 rebounds per game. LWC is scoring 79.6 PPG on average while holding opponents to a 63.4 PPG average in return this season. Live video and live stats will be available for tonight's game.
