Ruby E. Hadley Coomer, 97, Adair Co., KY native (1923-2020) Ruby E. Hadley Coomer of Milltown, Indiana, passed away on November 23, 2020, at the Metcalfe Health Care Center in Edmonton. She was 97 years old. The funeral service will be held at 11amET on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Brown Funeral Home, 306 Spring St., Milltown, IN, with Bro. George Key officiating. Burial will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery near Milltown. Visitation is requested on Friday, November 27, 2020, from 4pmET to 8pmET, and after 9amET on Saturday. She was born January 21, 1923, in Adair County, to the late Logan Frank and Tela Campbell Hadley. She was a former employee of Jay-C Food Store in Marengo, Indiana and Winn-Dixie in Louisville. She was a member of the former Milltown Order of the Eastern Star #412, Milltown American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Rebel Valley Quilting Club, was of the Christian faith and a member of the Little Mission Church near Hardinsburg, Indiana. She always loved cooking for her family and was famous for her fried apple pies. She also loved quilting and working in her garden and her flowers. She served on the election board for 40 years and received a certificate for her service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Reid Coomer, two brothers, Frank and Walter Hadley, three sisters, Mary Patterson, Vonie Barnes and Betty Hadley and a great-grandson, Kody Pelly.
