Marvin Lee Devore, 84, Metcalfe County, KY (1936-2020) Marvin Lee Devore of Edmonton was born August 10, 1936. He departed this life on Monday, September 28, 2020 at his home at the age of 84. Marvin was known for his dry sense of humor and wit. He was kind of a loner loving to spend time in the woods with his dog PJ. Not only did he enjoy the woods but also loved woodworking. Marvin attended the New Beginnings Church of God in Edmonton. Marvin was the son of the late Roy and Birchie Ellen Gassaway Devore. Marvin was a long-time employee of SKF in Glasgow. He is survived by his wife Brenda Sue Bray Devore; A son Roger and wife Yvonne Devore of Pulaski, Tennessee; Two stepchildren; Mark and wife Debbie Atkins of Columbia; Donna and husband John Mann of Smiths Grove; Three grandchildren, Christopher and wife Sherise Devore, Marie Grimsley and Crystal Tucker; Five great grandchildren, Henry, Rosalynn, Chris, Brody and McKayla; One great-great granddaughter Paisley. Besides his parents Marvin was preceded in death by one brother and sister. Donald and Shirley Devore. Funeral services for Marvin will be held 1pmCT Friday in the chapel of Butler Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am Friday until service time at the funeral home. Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
