Free Tipping in Adair Friday and Saturday

By Bridget Compton

Free Tipping will be available on Friday, September 25, 2020, from 7amCT until 3:30pmCT, and Saturday, September 26, 2020, from 7amCT until 11:30amCT at the Adair County Transfer Station, 877 L Willis Road, Columbia, KY.

From the Public Square in Columbia go south on Hwy 61, pass through New Columbia and over the Parkway, then turn left onto Frank Dohoney Road, then left again onto L Willis Road.

This is a good way to get rid of some larger items you may have around the house. Do not bring dead animals, hazardous chemicals, electronics, silage plastic, etc.

I am also pleased to announce two grants we received to have an E-SCRAP event and a Hazardous Household Waste (HHW) event this year! We will be having our E-Scrap event from October 26, 2020 through October 30, 2020. Bins will be set out at the recycling center for you to drop off items from the list below.

The E-SCRAP event is a secure way to discard of old computers. This a reputable company we have used in the past that destroys the hard drives, to help protect personal information that might still be on them.

We will be having a Hazardous Household Waste (HHW) Event on Saturday, November 14, 2020, from 8amCT until NoonCT.

October 26, 2020 through October 30, 2020:

Officials were helping out more than ever before due to County inmates being unable to help this year with the Covid-19. Carl Jones and Doug Riley also assisted us in helping folks unload. Will be there until 11:30am Saturday. Details of future events in story that accompanies this photo.
