Christopher Wayne Cowan, 45, Columbia, KY (1975-2020) Christopher Wayne Cowan of Columbia passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at his residence. He was 45 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bobby Withers officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4pmCT to 8pmCT, and will continue on Wednesday morning until time for the service, at the funeral home. For the health and respect of the family, Please follow all rules for social distancing and The Healthy at Work Guidelines. Everyone attending will be required to wear a mask or face covering. Born on June 8, 1975 in Adair County he is the son of Phillip Cowan and Sandy Withers Janes. Chris was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and Masonic Lodge #96. He was a 1993 graduate of Adair County High School, where he was a very proud member of the football team and President of the FFA. He was very proud of his children and loved spending time with all of his family and friends. Survivors include his parents Sandy Withers Janes (special friend Herby Harrell) and Phillip Cowan (Sherry) all of Columbia; three children Colby, Katelyn and Case Cowan all of Columbia; a sister Keisha Baker (Brent) of Columbia; maternal grandmother Jeanette Keith (David) of Columbia; a step-sister Stefanie Wood of Campbellsville, KY and a host of other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his step-father Richie Janes; paternal grandparents Walker and Doris Cowan and maternal grandfather Avis Withers. Pallbearers will be Bruce Cundiff, Jamie Richard, Derek Richard, Brandon Cornelison, Chad Morrison, Dusty Claiborn, Grant Caldwell and Brian Cowan.
