Mary Jean Smith Goff, 89, Greensburg, KY (1931-2020)

Mary Jean Smith Goff of Greensburg passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. She was 89 years old.

There will be private family funeral services for Mary Jean Smith Goff held at 10amCT on Friday, August 7, 2020, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Blake Jessie and Bro. Todd Young officiating.

Graveside services will follow at the Aetna Grove Cemetery.

Mary Jean Smith Goff of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Hugh Smith and Emma Cummins Smith, was born on Friday, March 20, 1931 in Green County and departed this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a lifelong member of the Greensburg Baptist Church where she had been a training union teacher. She was also co-owner of the former Goff's Auto Parts, and a member of the Greensburg Art Club.

Survived by her husband of 72 years, Morris W. Goff of Greensburg having united in marriage on April 25, 1948.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Darrell and Marcy Goff of Greensburg; a daughter and son-in-law: Van and Ken Phelps of Campbellsville; six grandchildren and their spouses: Darren and Diana Goff, Russ and Mandy Goff all of Greensburg, Jill and Ken Pierce of Indiana, Chad and Janet Phelps of Greensburg, Josh and Allison Phelps of Harrodsburg, and Brooke and Jeff Montgomery of Mt. Washington; 14 great-grandchildren: Drew Goff, Matt Goff, Claire Goff, Caroline Goff, Greer Goff, Karson Pierce, Kollins Pierce, Reed Phelps, Reagan Phelps, Preston Phelps, Lev Phelps, Nate Montgomery, Seth Montgomery, Luke Montgomery; a sister: Carol Cook of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
