Barbara Squires Hodges, 87, Green Co., KY native (1932-2020) Mrs. Barbara Squires Hodges of Florida passed away on July 23, 2020. She was 87 years old. A private family service will be held at 10amCT, Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Brennson Bishop officiating. Burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens in Summersville. A graveside service will follow at 11amCT at Green County Memory Gardens. Mrs. Barbara Squires Hodges of Florida, a native of Green County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Lucian Durham Squires and Mattie Marie Shuffett Squires, was born on Friday, September 23, 1932 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at the Advent Hospital in Tampa, Florida. She was 87 years and 10 months of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and was a homemaker. Survived by her husband of 70 years, Joe Thomas Hodges of Florida, also a native of Green County, having united in marriage on July 21, 1950. Other survivors include a daughter: Sara Hodges and her spouse, Dr. Kristin Whitfill of Florida; two grandsons: Bryce and Logan Whitfill of Florida and a host of other relatives and friends. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the L.D. & Marie Squires L.W.C. Endowment Scholarship Fund or the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, which can be made at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Wade Squires, Ronnie Foley, Timmy Marr, Kalen Squires, Joey DeWees.
