Faylene Burton Herald, 74, Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2004, in Indiana.

Obituary information courtesy to the family by of Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at the G.H. Hermann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, with calling from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday,. May 18, 2004, at the funeral home.


She was the daughter of the late Zack and Emma Susan Willis Burton of Adair County,KY.

She was employed with RCA for 41 years before retiring in 1994. She was also a homemaker and loved her flower garden.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Linda Sue Winkle and Bethena Ann Wynn and her husband, Randy
  • Five grandchildren who will miss her dearly: Brian Lee Winkle, Beth Ann Groler, Suzanne Stewart, Dewayne Stewart, Richelle Harrison and 11 great grandchildren whom she adored
  • sisters: Mamie Cowan and Dollie Burton, both of Columbia, KY; and Janice Burton, Kokomo, IN
  • And five brothers: Bobby Burton, Liberty, KY; Donald Burton, Harold Burton, and Tommy Burton, all of Columbia, KY; Phillip Burton, Bradenton, FL
She was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Curry; brothers Dennis Burton, Freddie Burton, Edward Burton, and Delmar Lee Burton, and one grandson, McDawson Winkle.

Mrs. Herald will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
