Two still missing in Low Gap area of Lake Cumberland

By Mary Ellis

The search continued today for two men who went under and never resurfaced Friday afternoon in the Low Gap area of Lake Cumberland in Russell County.

Russell County's Emergency Services Director - H.M. Bottoms stated this (Sunday) morning that the search continued until dark last night for the two men from "out of the country" and neither of the victim's bodies were recovered.

The Russell County Rescue Squad was expected to be assisted today by Pulaski and Wayne County Squads - with Boone County's specialized Water Rescue out of Northern Kentucky joining the recovery efforts around Noon. According to Bottoms - Boone County personnel with their state of the art equipment have assisted locals for years with on-water search and find missions.
