Verlis Wayne 'Shorty' Bloyd, 82, Green County, KY Verlis Wayne "Shorty" Bloyd of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Bro. James Harvey "J.H." Bloyd and Dora Bird Moran Bloyd, was born on Thursday, March 10, 1938 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Friday, April 10, 2020 at his home. He was 82 years, and one month of age. There will be private services held. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Bro. Cliffton Sullivan and Bro. Garrett Milby officiating. Honorary pallbearers (Not present) Nieces and Nephews - Terry Aaron, Benny Aaron, Jon Aaron, Bryan Kessler, R.J. Dunagan, and Tim Simpson. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was also a self-employed cattle buyer and farmer. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Loyce Faye Judd Bloyd of Greensburg, having united in marriage on November 25, 1966. Other survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Tony and Tinkie Bloyd of Campbellsville, and Todd Bloyd of Greensburg; two grandchildren: Chynna ReiAnn Bloyd and Chance McKinney Bloyd both of Campbellsville; a brother and sister-in-law: Bro. Gleason and Barbara Bloyd of Greensburg; a sister and brother-in-law: Wanda Zane and Bro. Leo Curry of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Bloyd was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Charles Bloyd, Arnold Bloyd, Roxie Davenport, and Orvella Clark. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund, which can be made through the funeral home.
