Sarah Margaret (Sally) Dobson Wells, 89, Greensburg, KY (1931-2020)

Sarah Margaret "Sally" Dobson Wells of Greensburg passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. She was 89 years old.

Private services will be held for Mrs. Sally Dobson Wells, with Bro. Zachary Carmichael, Bro. Todd Young, and Bro. Blake Jessie officiating. A memorial service for Mrs. Sally Dobson Wells will be held at a later date.

Sarah Margaret "Sally" Dobson Wells of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Edward G. Dobson and Elizabeth Stearman Dobson, was born on Monday, January 26, 1931 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at her home. She was 89 years, 2 months, and 13 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a long time member of the Greensburg Baptist Church where she played organ and piano. She was also a former office clerk for the late Dr. Denver Wells' Optometrist Practice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Denver Wells, on December 8, 2004 having united in marriage on March 31, 1956.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Glenda Wells of Alabama; two daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth "Libby" and Steve Carmichael of Lawrenceburg, and Sara and John Francis of Lexington; five grandchildren: Seth Carmichael of Pikeville, Zachary Carmichael and his wife, Allie of Versailles, Katy Carmichael of Lawrenceburg, Jonathan Francis, and Emily Francis both of Lexington; a twin brother: William Dobson of Louisville; two special caregivers: Myrna Quisenberry and Dean Hudgins both of Green County; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Wells was also preceded in death by a sister: Elizabeth Casada in October of 1951.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Greensburg Baptist Church Music Fund or the Taylor County SPCA, which can be made through the funeral home.

Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
