Public Notice: Closure of County Government Buildings

County governent employees will be working, however all county buildings will be closed to the public per recommendation of the President and the Governor. Alternate contact info is provided for each office.

For the purposes of maintaining social distancing under the CDC guidelines and under the directives from the President of the United States and the Governor of Kentucky, in order to promote the health and well-being of the general public to reduce the community spread of disease, please be advised of the following:

As part of our continuing efforts to confront and limit the spread of COVID-19, all Adair County Government Offices are required to cease providing in-person government services to the public beginning at 4:30pm on March 17, 2020, with limited exceptions. In order to carry out this directive, all Constitutionally Elected Officials and agency heads shall adhere to the following protocol:


  • All buildings and sites providing county government services, shall be closed to the public and to the extend possible, all in-person county government services shall be provided by the following methods: mail, fax, email, videoconferencing, any internet-based methods, telephone or by appointment only under emergency needs;

  • Employees are prohibited from providing nonessential in-person county government services outside of government buildings or sites;

  • In the limited circumstances where government in-person services are still provided, all county government employees should engage in social distancing as defined by the CDC. Employees will still be working to take calls/emails/faxes.
