LWC Women's Swimming finishes 4th at MSC Championship By Christopher Coombs Williamsburg, KY - The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team totaled 350 points across three days of competition at the Mid-South Conference Swimming Championship to finish in fourth place. Jessica Macdonald captured her third individual All-MSC team selection to lead the Blue Raiders to their finish. She did so by taking second place during the 100-yard freestyle, narrowly missing first place by 0.15 seconds to last season NAIA National Champion in the event. Macdonald took the two seed into the 100-yard freestyle finals after and A cut time of 53.66 seconds. Carlene Taylor also took part in the race qualifying in sixth at 54.37 seconds. Both held their positioning in the finals as they each improved their time. Macdonald touched the wall in 51.68 seconds as Taylor clocked in at 53.71 seconds. Emma Phillips captured sixth place in the 1650-yard freestyle with a national A cut time of 18:49.56. Narjiss Bourbouh qualified for the finals of the 200-yard butterfly with her mark of 2:22.88. She went on to finish seventh in the finals with a B Cut time of 2:20.92. The paring of Jaye Farthing, Taylor, Narjiss Bourbouh and Macdonald raced their way to a fourth-place finish during the 400-yard freestyle relay. Cumberlands (Ky.) finished in first place at the event with 806 points as Indiana Wesleyan took second with 604 and Loyola (La.) claimed third with 486 points. The Blue Raiders return to the pool on March 4-7 when they travel to Knoxville, Tennessee and the Allan Jones Aquatic Center for the NAIA National Championship.
