CPD: Walker Street accident leads to DUI arrest

On Friday, January 31, 2020, Columbia Police Department officers were dispatched along with Adair EMS to a potential injury accident on Walker Street just after 10pmCT.

A Pontiac G6 had flipped upside down after making impact with a parked Ford pickup.

The driver of the Pontiac was located outside a residence and was observed to be intoxicated.



After waiving emergency medical services, Bobby Spencer, 43, of Columbia was placed into custody and was charged with DUI, operating on suspended license, failure to produce insurance card, and criminal mischief 1st degree; a class D felony pending providing proof of insurance.

Spencer was taken from the scene to TJ Health Columbia, where he consented to having his blood drawn. He was then transported and lodged in the Adair County Jail.

Officer Adam Cravens was the arresting Officer. He was assisted on scene by Officer John Dial as well as Deputies Justin Cross and Derek Padgett.
